Lexus Launches 'CT 200h' in Japan

Lexus announces the launch in Japan today of the hybrid-only "CT 200h1", its first entry in the premium-compact segment. 


Paving the way for a new Lexus era, the CT 200h is a five-door hatchback combining the vitality of agile driving with advanced environmental performance and dynamic, sporty styling to create an experience that excites and motivates both drivers and passengers.

Its high level of body rigidity, supported by performance dampers, a newly developed suspension and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters for driver control achieves both agile handling and riding comfort. The Drive Mode Select feature allows drivers to switch between different acceleration and steering sensitivities and gauge displays as wanted. Class-leading fuel efficiency of 34 km/L is also attained through effective harnessing of a 1.8-liter Atkinson cycle combustion engine5 and Lexus Hybrid Drive technology.

Furthermore, keeping vehicle height low emphasizes the vehicle's low center of gravity, lending to a silhouette suggesting dynamic movement.

Toyota unveils its new Prius V “Wagon” and Prius C Concept

The Japanese automaker Toyota chose the 2011 Detroit Motor Show to unveil its latest Prius, the Prius V. Designed as a family oriented wagon like car, The Prius V (Versatility) is your average Prius on steroid offering up to 60% more cargo space than its Hatchback predecessor with almost 1 Cubic meter (32 Cubic Feet). If many will welcome this move from Toyota, this design change has however a huge drawback on the car performances, with 40mpg (miles per gallon) fuel efficiency compared to the 50mpg from the actual version. The 0.29 drag coefficient of the Prius V may actually be the culprit here, and we really hope that Toyota will succeed in bringing it back to the actual 0.26, the very same one as the actual Prius.

Toyota also announced another Prius with the Prius C (City), a young and dynamic concept that we hope will see the day of light in the coming few years.

BMW X6 TYCOON

The German tuning company, Hamann, has a very creative way of naming its vehicles. Let me give you a few examples: we have the 911 Turbo named Stallion, the Volcano based on the McLaren SLR, the Cyclone for Chayenne and the F430 named Black Miracle.

The newest acquisition for Hamann is the Tycoon, a modified version of the BMW X6. This car received some improvements like the power boost, the extra width, plus side skirts, roof spoiler and some interior appointments. I think one of the greatest parts of this car’s look consists of the black 23-inch alloy wheels that go extremely well with the rest of the design. 
Another great plus is the 360 horsepower, the carbon fiber trim and aluminum accessories.
